Lactobacillus

Lactobacillus are bacteria that produce lactic acid, and are naturally part of body's bacterial flora; especially in the mouth, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract and female's vagina.
Lactobacillus bacteria support gastrointestinal health by breaking down sugars into lactic acid, which could prevent harmful bacterial growth. Subsequently, it also supports overall urinary and vaginal health well-being by reducing infection risk.
Lactobacillus has over 180 species and the species commonly found in fermented food - yogurt, miso and tempeh, is Lactobacillus acidophilus.
