Saw Palmetto
Latin Name: Serenoa repens
Type: Herb
Saw Palmetto's berries, which are dark black and blue when ripe, are the source of its active compounds ─ fatty acids, plant sterols and flavonoids.
A type of palm tree that grows from South Carolina through Florida, its fanned out leaves resemble a saw hence giving the plant its name. Saw Palmetto is mainly used to help support normal prostate function as it is able to regulate healthier levels of testosterone.
It also provided dietary support for normal, healthy urinary flow. The Native Americans traditionally use saw palmetto as a herbal treatment for urinary and reproductive problems related to enlarged prostate gland.
