Niacinamide
Type: Nicotinamide
Nicotinamide is another form of Vitamin B3. Our body is able to produce niacinamide by obtaining niacin and tryptophan (a non-essential amino acid) from our diet. It is essential for promoting healthy skin and often used to minimise redness caused by eczema or acne, retain skin moisture, lighten pigmentation, minimize fine lines and wrinkles and regulate oil production. Unlike niacin, niacinamide does not have the effect of lowering blood lipids and cholesterol.
Common food sources for Nicotinamide include yeast, meat, fish, milk and green vegetables.
